Rookie
About this Level:
- For players 7-8 years of age.
- This age group is more actively taught baseball skills and the pitching is done by a machine.
- Confident players may be given the opportunity to pitch near the end of the season.
- All 8 year-olds are given the opportunity to tryout for the All-Star program in June.
- Coaching staff will provide information as to date and time of tryouts.
- The All-Star program requires a copy of the player's birth certificate and a signed Medical Release.
Schedule:
You will need to choose ONE set of weekdays to play GAMES on:
- Monday & Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 7:30pm at Suzuki Fields and Terrace Heights.
- Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 6:00 – 7:30pm at Kiniski Gardens.
PRACTICES will take place on Saturday – schedule provided before the season.
What They Need:
- Glove
- Helmet (with chin strap)
- Jock or Jill
- Running Shoes
- Players may wear any comfortable loose-fitting pants.
- All Rookie players keep their team shirt/jersey and hat at the end of the season.
A player wind-up BBQ is held at Ottewell Hall at the end of June. Players will receive their team/individual pictures at this time.
